Getting back to the grind!

I am having an awful time getting back in the grind of work and home etc etc etc. When we get home, we both feel totally exhausted!!! Hmmm......sleeping in late every day of the vacation probably wasn't the wisest thing to do!! BUT IT WAS GREAT!!

Camden is beginning to answer questions if you ask him. How does a cow go? Where is your nose? Will you turn off the light? (He LOVES to turn off and on lamps and lightswitches for some reason!).

The only other thing going on in our lives is his sleeping habits! He has been waking up in the middle of the night and crying. He is fine if you hold him but as soon as you even THINK about putting him down in his crib (GASP - THE CRUELTY!!) he whines and crys for EVER!! I've been giving in and just taking him to bed with me. Honestly, I don't mind if its almost time for me to wake up because it gives me a chance to snuggle him AND he usually will lay there with Danny while I get my shower which is nice. But I am afraid that I am making alot of hard work for myself in the future!!

The Christmas Story - sort of!

Our vacation is officially over!

But, we had such a wonderful time off!! Even getting the bathrooms redone wasn't that bad.....well, he got ONE bathroom done and is going to work on the other one this Saturday. THEY ARE TURNING OUT BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Yea!

The first part of the vacation, Camden was sick. He had another ear infection. But by Tuesday, he was feeling fine. On Thursday, we went to Shreveport and spent the night at the El Dorado casino. We had the best time. LOST - - but had a really nice time. Friday, we took Camden out to look at lights - he loved it! Then, Saturday, Sunday & Monday was all about visiting with family. It was great!

Camden RAKED in the gifts! I couldn't believe the toys and such he received. I am going to be writing thank you notes all weekend! I got Danny a gift certificate to get his truck bedliner sprayed in - - he was so surprised that I thought he was going to start crying! I love it when I can surprise him - He really is a good husband and father and deserves even more than I could ever afford to give him.

Anyway, that's the vacation in a nutshell. SO FUN!!

I've got to get caught up on everyone's blog to see what I've missed!! :)

I'm Going On VACATION!!!!

Greetings everyone!!

I am going on vacation starting at 5:00 p.m. TODAY!! Therefore, I most likely won't post anything cause I'll be busy (okay, just plain lazy too!! ha)

The plans are to relax, go looking at Christmas lights, finish shopping, start the rounds of visiting: grandparents, parents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, aunts & uncles. We still have the plans of going to Shreverport on Thursday---I've already booked the room, so I hope it works out!

Also, the bathroom remodel is in the works! The carpenter is coming to start on it tommorrow! I know what you're thinking.....You're planning to relax AND have a home improvement job going? Yeah, I know....I'm a glutton for punishment!

I'm going to post before and after pictures. You guys, I swear that I have the world's ugliest bathroom. It is TERRIBLE!! So, I am super excited!

I wanted to go ahead and wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I am so thankful this year and want everyone to know how much you mean to me!

Amy & Carissa - you are the best internet friends (and baby experts), ever! Ya'll make me laugh everyday!!

Pam, Patricia, Melissa, & Sherri - I am so thankful to have you guys as friends! I love that we are so different, yet so much alike all at once! Sherri - you'll always be the BAT to Dan & I! haha

Bridget, Kenny, Trey - I miss you and wished you lived closer!

Danny - I love you! You are the only person who has ever accepted me for just being me. I am so glad you are strong & steady because it helps balance me being insecure (sometimes) and spontaneous (ALOT)

Camden - If you can actually read this, I KNEW IT--you ARE A BABY GENIUS!!! hahahaha

ho hum!

Well, nothing really exciting and "blog" worthy has really happened in my life to actually post.

Just the regular! I'm knee deep in field work right now, so I've been out measuring and appraising buildings all day long out in the cold - - (Amy & Carissa - don't laugh, cold to me means like 50 degrees! HAHA).

WE MAY ACTUALLY HAVE A NIGHT ALONE!!!!!! Danny's mom said she would keep Camden overnight so we could drive to Shreveport and spend the night at one of the swanky casinos. We haven't had a night without the kid in about a year!! I'm SO EXCITED!!!

They've actually really built up that area. There is now a boardwalk full of restaurants and shops that is really neat. I'm not a particularly big gambler, so the boardwalk is just my ticket! Danny likes to play table games - - and he is fairly good at it! The last time we spend the night over there, he won enough to pay for our hotel room and food!

I'm whining!!

Okay, I know where Camden must get this...but I want to whine!!

I just got offered (for the second time) a job with this super fabulous software company. AND I WANT TO TAKE IT SOOOOOOOO MUCH! But, because there is some travel involved, it just would be difficult to work into our family schedule.

So here goes...

TV, Camden & Such

Camden was up early both Saturday & Sunday. So my plan to sleep in was foiled! But later, we did take some great naps---therefore, everything evened out!

I don't watch much TV because I just don't have time, but I started watching Grey's Anatomy this season and LOVE IT!! Danny makes fun of me because every Sunday at 9:00 p.m. I'm like, Leave me alone, don't make alot of noise, my shows coming on!! He thinks its funny because I have a crush on Dr. McDreamy. But my goodness, that man is pretty!!! Sigh.......

Danny & I were laughing at Camden because he LOVES the BooBahs. He will actually sit still for 30 minutes and just be totally mesmerized! I've tried to find a DVD, but have been unable to find one! Hopefully, by Christmas I will finally find one for his stocking stuffer.

me...so....tired!!!

4:00 a.m.

Yes, 4:00 a.m. is the time Mr. Wonderful decided to wake up! Although, he was still very tired, he fought going to sleep, screamed & cried, and tossed & turned, and generally was very uncooperative.

(By the way, I AM talking about Camden, not Danny--heehheeehee)
He fought me until about 5:45 which is time for me to get up anyway. So I fixed us breakfast, ate, then took him in the bathroom with me so I could get a shower.

Danny got up later and told me he didn't like me taking Camden in the bathroom with me while showering because he didn't know if it was "mentally healthy" to let a baby see his mother naked.

I gave him the "I've been up since 4:30, so zip it, pal!" look. He started laughing and said he thought he'd better hush! I agreed!!

But seriously, what age do you make a serious effort to stay covered up all the time? (not that I run around naked all the time, but from time to time, I HAVE to take a shower!!)

I'm bored & have 20 minutes left.....

I'm in Paperwork Hell

Right now, I am supposed to be out in the field doing appraisal work but since it is deemed too cold, we've been put on inside work.....which means PAPERWORK! Ugh!!

Know what's funny - right now the temperature is around 30 degrees and that is considered our "ARCTIC BLAST". I have a feeling we couldn't make it up north!!

Xmas Tree vs Camden - Round 2

Camden was at it again with the Xmas Tree last night. He kept whipping off the tree skirt and the tree would just teeter totter. It didn't fall down but came AWFULLY close! The thing is once it would start wobbling around, he would get this look on his face like "Geez, I know what is about to happen and it's not good".

On another note, spit up milk STINKS awfully bad!! He spit up in the car & got it on his mittens, coat, and me! I'm going to have to go home and change & get him his other coat because the smell is making me GAG!!

We are supposedly going to get an "arctic blast" this evening bringing very cold temperatures and possibly sleet & snow. I hope we do! It hasn't snowed here in about 4 years--maybe even 5!

I would love to have a snow day at home with Camden!

We got our service awards today. I've been here FIVE years---can't believe it.

Everyone was in a really bad mood today, so when they called my name for the award, I started doing a cheer. There was silence and then everyone cracked up!

Xmas tree vs. Camden - Round 1

Camden had his first fight with the Christmas tree.

He was standing near the base of it, as he always does, looking at the lights. I turned my back for just a couple of minutes. CRASH!!!!! He pulled the tree down on him.

Camden - 1 small scratch to the face

I would say the point goes to Camden in this round.

Weekend update!

I am such a dunder-head! Camden woke up Saturday morning with thick green snot running out his nose. Since, it is flu season, his doctor's office has a Saturday clinic, so off we went. He has ANOTHER ear infection! That is why he was up so much during the week.The thing is, it never occured to me that it would be an ear infection at all! So he is on antibiotics and another decongestant and seems to be getting better. Last night he slept ALL NIGHT LONG! I couldn't believe it!

We missed the company Xmas party and Matt's birthday party because I didn't want to leave Camden sick. So it ended up being kind of a lazy weekend. It was 81 degrees on Saturday and I was wearing shorts! Now it finally got cooler again!

I read this article in the paper that said if you eat yogurt with active cultures in it that it will help your immune system against colds & the flu. There is a product called DanEase that is supposed to be really good. So, I've been feeding Camden yogurt every morning (Yo Baby) and we've been using the DanEase. Cross your fingers! I hope this helps us!

Camden cried again this morning when I dropped him off....today was particularly hard! I wish I could be a SAHM!

I'm disliking BROWN

I am in a major remodeling state of mind lately! It's a dilemma where I don't want to invest ALOT of money fixing it up because I want to sell and buy a bigger house, but I can't stand it!

Our home needs some MAJOR updating! We bought it knowing that it needed some work and that we would fix it up one room at a time. But something about that place is really getting to me. The brown carpet, the brown dingy cabinets that need replacing, the awful green & blue walllpaper.....uuuugghhhhh! It must have really looked nice back in 1982, I swear!

Whew....okay, we WILL get there one day!

One a good note, we had a carpenter come out and look at our bathrooms and should be getting as estimate really soon. I'm having floor to ceiling beadboard put in with new trim and crown moulding. It will look SO FRESH!

Only woke up once..

I slept for about 6 hours last night which is an improvement over the last few days.

Camden woke up about 3:30 this morning and was WIDE AWAKE for about one hour. It's really hard to get aggravated with him when you go in his room and he is standing up, arms out, grinning from ear to ear. It was like he was saying "Hey Mom, missed you and just wanted to get together!"

We are going to go to the Celebrate Downtown Christmas Village this weekend. The city lights up the courthouse, has a Santa, and a little Christmas train set up for the kids to ride. Can't wait to see Camden's expression! He is funny--I took him to Target and was looking at the Christmas trees and he got SO tickled and excited.

I think I'm going mad!

Another sleepless night!

I'm sick, I'm frustrated, I'm tired!!

Camden was up starting at 10:30 P.M. last night. I think he is teething again. Ugh!
I tried letting him cry it out and he ended up just getting FURIOUS and spitting up. So cleaned him up, changed the sheets, and tried rocking him. I can tell he was tired, but he was just fighting it and fighting it! He finally just gave up and went to sleep.

I don't know what happened to our baby that fell asleep beautifully and slept all night. Perhaps, I bragged too much about his sleep habits??!!

I'm off to the breakroom for another cup of coffee.
