GREYED OUT

The last couple of weeks have totally just run together! Same routine....work, home, clean, sleep, work, home, clean, sleep, work, home, clean, sleep......you get the idea!

Camden stayed home Wednesday with an ear infection. Since I work at home, it was rather nice to have another person in the house during the middle of the day. He watched his Wiggles videos, played in his playhut tent, and slept. We went to the doctor that morning--- so he was fairly tired by lunch time. My mom came over that afternoon and helped with him so I could have the afternoon to totally attend to work matters.

We got 'scolded' from his daycare. He is the only kid in his class who refuses to eat with a spoon. I KNOW---I should have been making him. I give him the spoon, but we really haven't been consistent with him to use it all the time. I figured that I stressed out so much during his first year from reading all of those baby books and worrying whether or not he was 'on track' that now, I am just letting him go with the flow. We started really 'making' him use it the last couple of days. He has done very well. He KNOWS how to use it----he just prefers the messy 'eating with the hands' method. Poor baby---already has to CONFORM!

My in-laws divorce is final today. It's really sad. We kept holding on to hope that they might reconcile, but it never happened. So, Danny's been a bit upset today. It seems so weird knowing that things will never be the same again. Very strange!

Vacation update - Part II

Hello people!

The rest of our vacation went really well.

My cousin, Robert, from Germany was in town and we got to visit with him. He and his family are so nice. I know his father would have been so proud of him. I know our family is thrilled to finally get to know him and actually be with him. He has his father's smile and it's nice to have a part of Uncle Rusty back with us.

Camden loved him! Usually, Camden is very shy around people he doesn't see on a regular basis. But he went right up to Robert---I was very surprised! He got Camden a little playset with zoo animals. Camden has played with it every day!

Monday was back to work! It was SO hard to get up early and get the guys ready! But we made it! It hasn't been that bad.

Vacation humpday

Wanted to keep ya'll up to date on the goings of us vacationing folks.

It has been so nice to enjoy some time off together and not stress out over work, housework, daycare, etc.

Monday, we put Camden in daycare and started our 'project'. We rented a Rug Doctor & cleaned all the carpets and painted my office. I'm not sure if it was the paint fumes or what, but Danny was totally cracking me up. I laughed all day long with him.

Tuesday, we put Camden in daycare and had 'our' day together. (I know, deep down, I feel extremely guilty....... but apparently not guilty enough to give up 'our' day!). Went to Shreveport and spent about an hour at the casinos. The atmosphere isn't quite like it is on the weekend......there was just a bunch of old people there. So we didn't stay too long. After that, we went to the Riverwalk. Shopped & ate. I was really impressed. They have built all that up since last summer.

Today, we KEPT Camden home with us and went to the zoo. He was extremely impressed with the parrots, tigers, and otters. When we got home, we pulled the pool out for him and let him wade then run through the sprinkers. I'm hoping that he will sleep ALL through the night tonights. The last couple of evenings, he has been up on & off through the night.

My plans for tommorrow are to run errands and take Camden to the Pine Tree pool. Friday, we are going to the Daingerfield State Park and take some time to swim and possibly go on one of the hiking trails.

I'll update with pictures soon!

VACATION COUNT DOWN!!!!!!

Only one more work day left to the start of our vacation!! I'm really excited about being off for a whole entire week!

We have plans to go to the Kemah Boardwalk for a couple of days (that's near Houston for those not in the know!). Then we have plans to paint my office, go to the zoo, and generally just hang out. I'm planning to put Camden in daycare the day we paint, so we can get it done in a day and not have to chase the little one around. I admire anyone who can do real home improvement AND watch children. It's HARD!!!

Camden is going to have a play date this afternoon. There is this really sweet couple who bought two door down from ours. They have two children, a 2 year old and a 3 month old. She is a SAH mom. I think for the longest she thought I was too and just thought I sent Camden to daycare and hung around the house all day. We talked yesterday and she was surprised that I worked! hahaha! I must look REALLY bad when I go walking on my lunch hour!

Work is going well. I went to Plano yesterday. It was really good to see my coworkers. They are such a talented group of people. I'm pretty impressed every time I go up. I'm getting where I am not so nervous around them.. That is good! I hate when I get really nervous and freeze up-----and I'm thinking in my head "BE YOURSELF!!"----but acting like a totally different person.

Camden has learned to whisper. Sort of! He usually just goes up to you and goes "heyyyyyyyyyyyyy" or "OOOOOOOOOO" REALLY quiet. It's the funniest thing! We got him a wading pool and he loves it. He refuses to sit down, but loves to stomp and splash standing up.

Well, that's it for now. Till next time........
