Thank you, God, for portable DVD players

Thank GOD for portable DVD players and grandparents!

Camden, Mom, Dad, and I packed up and drove to Arkansas to visit my brothers & sister this weekend.
Sad to say, but this is the first time Camden has been out of the state of Texas. And the first time he has been in the car over two hours straight. AND the first time he stayed in a hotel room.............and he did great! He wasn't too sure about all the new faces, but all in all I think he did really well.

We left on Friday and got to Little Rock about 1:30. We went to my sister's house and spent the afternoon visiting. I confess, I spent alot of time keeping Camden off the stairs. Camden & stairs terrify me. We then ate dinner at Short Smalls. While I was there, I had to run to the car to get Camden a sippy cup......then busted my arse in the parking lot.

Here is basically my family breakdown. My oldest brother & sister have two kids each. My oldest nephew is driving now. He drives much better than me......which isn't saying much! He is super smart and is a senior this year. When I say super smart---I mean super smart & articulate to the point where I can't believe he is kin to me. I can't believe he is going to be in college next year.....that totally freaks me out! I remember the day he was born. My other nephew is a couple of years younger. I told Danny that I think he'll end up being a rock star. Seriously, he's really quiet but is really good-looking and has got a cool vibe about him---he's going to be famous! My niece got her first job......and she is only 15. She & her brother are home-schooled so she doesn't have the restrictions of a regular schools schedule. She is really pretty and very mature for her age. You can sit down and have a conversation with her like a grown up. Her brother was at a church function so I didn't get the 411 on him.

Now, Saturday, we spent the afternoon with my twin brother's family. He also has two children. They are closer to Camden's age. His daughter is 6 and his son is 3. Maddie started first grade at her Catholic school this year. She is like a little mother. She wanted to hold, feed and entertain Camden. Camden was totally fascinated with her. Her brother is a hoot. Here is my favorite saying of the weekend made by Mr. Personality....."I share toys, not food." I'm loving it! He & Camden ran in the backyard and up & down and up & down the deck at my sister's house. That's the most fun Camden had the entire trip.

The rest of us were just old & boring so I'm not going to blog on us!

Sunday, we got up, ate breakfast at IHOP (the most god-awful hideous restaurant ever---YUCK-----I DO NOT HOP to IHOP!) and left about 9:30. I got home about 2:00. Camden was SO happy to see Danny. He just held on to him and hugged him for a LONG time.

It is good to be home!

I can't believe it's been a month!

I can't believe that it's been a month since I've last blogged. Time flies SO fast.

I ended up getting my hair cut, but it didn't look like the picture. I totally chickened out. I did get bangs.....which at first I totally HATED, but now I'm getting used to them. It took me so long to grow my hair out to one length. And it was SO EASY to take care of. This haircut is fairly easy as well, but I actually have to take time to fix it.

I went to Plano yesterday. I really enjoy going into the office. The atmosphere is so different and fun. I'm making a pact to myself to at least go every other week for a day or two.

Camden started his new class two weeks ago. I love it. He loves it. Ms. Sandy is the greatest!
He comes home clean and happy. Which is a huge deal......I couldn't believe how the sent him home before.................I won't go into it, but I was hugely unhappy.

Camden & I are making our first real trip. We are going to Arkansas to visit my brothers & sister. This is the first time that he will spend the night in a hotel. I'm not sure what to expect. Danny is staying home to be a bachelor for the weekend. I'm excited.....I think we will have a lot of fun.
