Our Fourth of July Week

As usual, Camden's school closed for the week of Fourth of July. So, my mom & dad kept him Monday & Tuesday and Danny stayed home with him for the rest of the week. The week summed up....WET! It rained and rained and rained and rained and rained. So we had an interesting time keeping him entertained while I could work and keep my sanity! But all's well that ends well for sure!

I went to a yoga class Saturday. I've been to yoga before but this is apparently a different method of yoga than the one I attended. And it kicked my BUTT!! I mean there were little old ladies that were totally doing better than I did! I came home and Danny just laughed when I told him!

Camden school had a pony picture day....everytime he see's this picture he says "Be careful Camden. Don't fall of Camden." I wonder how many times he heard that on pony picture day??

The deal with doo

I've been using the "potty without pressure" method of potty training for Camden. It's okay, works well for us since we both work. Camden is doing really well......EXCEPT for #2. He won't do the doo in the potty. Nope, No way, not gonna happen, won't do it! I've tried everything: bribes, big boy underwear, showing him how the poo can flush down the toliet, talking sternly, talking baby...everything. That boy doesn't want to do #2. So, I'm backing off...and trying to find another potty book we can read.

He does really well at school, I mean wears his real underwear all day with just a few accidents....so I think it's something with us. Maybe he's afraid he won't be our baby anymore? Maybe he is using as power over us?? I'm not sure.

I can't wait until we can throw pullups out the door and be totally of that phase!!

I'm abit ashamed of myself

I can't believe it's been since October since I've even made the effort to make a blog! It's funny because I work all day at home on the computer...you'd think taking the time to update a blog wouldn't be that much of a stretch. But it is!

Once I get to work, it's a mad rush from 8 to 5....then Camden & Danny come home....then dinner, playtime, bath, cleaning the house, then bed.............X5 days a week!

Catching up for anyone who may still read the blog.

Camden is a little over 2 1/2. He's is full of energy and learns new stuff every day! He can count to 20, knows his letters (with some help of course!), and is really learning his manners. He loves saying please, thank you and you're welcome. He'll even tell him self thank you and you're welcome. It cracks me up....sometimes, he'll play in his room by himself and you'll hear him just talking up a storm. He got his first black eye last week. He was at school and was running with a toy. He tripped, fell and SMACK..........right in the eye. They called me right after it happened and said it wasn't anything to worry about. Then a few hours later, they called and said it really had started to swell, so to come pick him up. So off we went to the doctors. It thankfully, is nothing but a nasty looking black eye. Poor fellow!

We went on our first vacation in 3 years!!! We went to Pensacola, FL and had a wonderful time. Camden loved the beach. He and Danny would play in the ocean and the sand. They dug these holes in the sand and Camden would sit contently making sandcastles.

When we got back, we walked into our house to find (GASP!!) the city of Longview had pressurized a sewer line and it flooded our house. It was, in a word, TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!!

So we were pretty much homeless for a week while we tried to get the stink out of the house! We moved back in a couple of weeks ago, but still haven't got flooring put in the house. We ordered it, but it hasn't come in. So walking on concrete floors.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET CARPET!! woohoo.....I'm praying this week!

It's been a BAAADDDDD month

I've been meaning to write....really I have. But my life this month has been not so great!

We've all been sick from one sort of thing to another for 3 straight weeks. Started with strep throat, then we went through sinus infections, then the oh-so-wonderful stomach flu. We've both missed so much work from either taking care of Camden or trying to get well ourselves that it's not even funny. The last time I looked, I think I'm in the NEGATIVE for sick days. I've literally got to work 2 months so I can have NO sick time.......isn't that kind of ironic!

Camden's 2nd birthday party is Saturday. We are keeping it low key. Cake & ice cream and just a few family members over. I'm making a mental note on what toys I have to get rid of in order to have a place for all the new haul that he always seems to get. I made a pile of toys that he hasn't played with for months and decided to bring to the consignment shop down the street. GUESS WHAT?? He went straight to them and started playing quietly.

His big thing now is airplanes and trains. And he can spot them. We went to Papacitas for dinner one evening and he kept looking up saying 'Airplane, Airplane'. We thought he was just saying the word....so we were saying, 'Yes Camden, airplanes fly in the sky'. I happened to look up......and WAAYYYYYY up in the sky was a little speck.......Yep, An Airplane. I don't know where he gets such good eyesight.....but he's GOOD!

Mother of the Year

I'm having the feeling of guilt even as I write this.

I was SO H-A-P-P-Y to see Camden go back to daycare today.

(GOD, that makes me feel so BAD!!)

He has this hateful attitude all weekend. Now, he is only 22 months old----so, I'm thinking where in the heck is this coming from!!!! He's been hitting and whining and throwing tantrums. It has just truely grated on my nerves all weekend (yes, the THREE day weekend)

This morning we got up and I couldn't get the kid fed, dressed and out the door fast enough.

This is a very sad commentary on my morning!

Thank you, God, for portable DVD players

Thank GOD for portable DVD players and grandparents!

Camden, Mom, Dad, and I packed up and drove to Arkansas to visit my brothers & sister this weekend.
Sad to say, but this is the first time Camden has been out of the state of Texas. And the first time he has been in the car over two hours straight. AND the first time he stayed in a hotel room.............and he did great! He wasn't too sure about all the new faces, but all in all I think he did really well.

We left on Friday and got to Little Rock about 1:30. We went to my sister's house and spent the afternoon visiting. I confess, I spent alot of time keeping Camden off the stairs. Camden & stairs terrify me. We then ate dinner at Short Smalls. While I was there, I had to run to the car to get Camden a sippy cup......then busted my arse in the parking lot.

Here is basically my family breakdown. My oldest brother & sister have two kids each. My oldest nephew is driving now. He drives much better than me......which isn't saying much! He is super smart and is a senior this year. When I say super smart---I mean super smart & articulate to the point where I can't believe he is kin to me. I can't believe he is going to be in college next year.....that totally freaks me out! I remember the day he was born. My other nephew is a couple of years younger. I told Danny that I think he'll end up being a rock star. Seriously, he's really quiet but is really good-looking and has got a cool vibe about him---he's going to be famous! My niece got her first job......and she is only 15. She & her brother are home-schooled so she doesn't have the restrictions of a regular schools schedule. She is really pretty and very mature for her age. You can sit down and have a conversation with her like a grown up. Her brother was at a church function so I didn't get the 411 on him.

Now, Saturday, we spent the afternoon with my twin brother's family. He also has two children. They are closer to Camden's age. His daughter is 6 and his son is 3. Maddie started first grade at her Catholic school this year. She is like a little mother. She wanted to hold, feed and entertain Camden. Camden was totally fascinated with her. Her brother is a hoot. Here is my favorite saying of the weekend made by Mr. Personality....."I share toys, not food." I'm loving it! He & Camden ran in the backyard and up & down and up & down the deck at my sister's house. That's the most fun Camden had the entire trip.

The rest of us were just old & boring so I'm not going to blog on us!

Sunday, we got up, ate breakfast at IHOP (the most god-awful hideous restaurant ever---YUCK-----I DO NOT HOP to IHOP!) and left about 9:30. I got home about 2:00. Camden was SO happy to see Danny. He just held on to him and hugged him for a LONG time.

It is good to be home!

I can't believe it's been a month!

I can't believe that it's been a month since I've last blogged. Time flies SO fast.

I ended up getting my hair cut, but it didn't look like the picture. I totally chickened out. I did get bangs.....which at first I totally HATED, but now I'm getting used to them. It took me so long to grow my hair out to one length. And it was SO EASY to take care of. This haircut is fairly easy as well, but I actually have to take time to fix it.

I went to Plano yesterday. I really enjoy going into the office. The atmosphere is so different and fun. I'm making a pact to myself to at least go every other week for a day or two.

Camden started his new class two weeks ago. I love it. He loves it. Ms. Sandy is the greatest!
He comes home clean and happy. Which is a huge deal......I couldn't believe how the sent him home before.................I won't go into it, but I was hugely unhappy.

Camden & I are making our first real trip. We are going to Arkansas to visit my brothers & sister. This is the first time that he will spend the night in a hotel. I'm not sure what to expect. Danny is staying home to be a bachelor for the weekend. I'm excited.....I think we will have a lot of fun.
